August 11 th we had a minor storm warning that ended up being the biggest storm event in upper Indiana’s history
We have had the most insane and useless response to this destruction
We are on day 8 of no electricity in huge areas.
No response no help.
No phone service for 4 days
No police patrolling to see who was in need of assistance
Look at the pictures of long lines for gas.
No one looked to see if we were alive
A food truck here or there at stores many days after those of us that were stuck with trees in our houses and cars
There are many who have no where else to go We spend our nights in the dark and charge our phones when a neighbor can use their vehicle battery
We complain call for help but there is the same response from nipsco
They are trying but there’s too much damage
There are so many today still out of money. Out of food. Out of gas for generators

Today there are people angry. People at their last of good and gas

Please. No one in our government is helping
Yesterday evening was the first email from our local congressman Frank Mrvan
This guy didn’t even announce anything to us until last night
Here’s the thing. When there’s no cell service for 4 days , no electricity how do you call for help?
How do we receive word of any updates?
How do we know the devastation around us ?
NO ONE IS HELPING
They say helps coming but the 8 days of dark No power. How much longer ?
At one point we were not allowed out of the city. Police blocked roads
Not one person came around to even check if we were ok. Did we need goods. Ice water !!!!!!
So they employ national guard they say Where ?
The nice town of St. John got service right away. Can I mention those are wealthier people there.
